2014 American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting Fellowships

The Alliance and NAME are committed to cultivating and developing leaders in the field by providing financial assistance to attend the Annual Meeting & Museum Expo™. These Fellowships provide access to professional development, networking, and mentorship opportunities. Last year, more than 40 individuals were awarded fellowships through this program.

Fellows have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the field, meet with mentors for career advancement and learn about volunteer and leadership opportunities within the Alliance and the various Professional Networks to give back to their profession.

Fellows receive a travel stipend, complimentary conference registration, and tickets to select networking events.

There are three types of Fellowships available:

Professional Network Fellowships

These are available to mid-career professionals who demonstrate leadership and are committed to the advancement of the field. Each of the Professional Networks (like NAME) awards up to two Mid-Career Professional Fellowship.

Emerging Museum Professional Fellowships

These are available to emerging professionals in the first ten years of their career, including full-time graduate students engaged in a museum-related course of study. The EMP Council reviews the applications and selects the awardees. NAME is also sponsoring three additional exhibition-related EMP Fellowships.

Diversity Fellowships

These are available to those who are under-represented within the profession. The Diversity Committee reviews applications and selects awardees.

Visit the Alliance website, www.aam-us.org, and follow the link to Annual Meeting for detailed information about eligibility requirements and the application process. Applications will be available in mid January 2014.
