Section Head Collections Management and Conservation F/T

MIM seeks a senior registrar, conservator, or manager of those services to oversee and coordinate the registration and conservation functions of the museum and will include oversight of the following: Security, preservation and documentation of all collections. Refining plans, policies and procedures relevant to the collections and their cataloguing and care. Recommendations for accessions and deaccessions. Methods for the safe transport of acquisitions and of the collection when it moves to its permanent home. Fully implement software programs to meet the collection management requirements.
Qualifications: Advanced degree in an area related to museum studies, collections management and/or a field related to music or musical instrument research. Expertise in museum collection management software (MIM is using TMS)
